Pest control services provider Rollins LLC revamped its driver safety program in 2020. All new employees and high-risk drivers take Rollins’ Defensive Driving eLearning course, eDriving. This three-hour course calculates a profile for each driver and then assigns additional courses based on their individual risk assessment. Rollins also developed a curriculum based on the Toyota
Safety Sense system (TSS) most of its cars and trucks are equipped with in order to eliminate collisions and minimize injuries. And the company created a Safe Driving dashboard and has local managers ride along with each driver at least two times per year.
As a result, Rollins saw its Collision Frequency Ratio (CFR) go down to 5.1 percent, a 24 percent improvement.
At the end of 2020, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its report summarizing the final data from the 2019 Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries. The number of fatalities and workers
both increased, highlighting the importance of safety training.
